Academic Background

 

Bernard completed his graduate studies at the University of Stellenbosch and during this time he was the youngest participant selected to take part in the Entrepreneurship and Empowerment in South Africa (EESA) 2012 program. In collaboration with Syracuse University (New York) business consulting was provided to previously disadvantaged entrepreneurs in order to facilitate growth of their businesses.

 

Bernard finally completed his M.Com (Psych) degree at the University of Stellenbosch. He conducted research for his Master's thesis, The Development of the Innovation Leadership Questionnaire, at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. The primary focus of the research study was to determine the leadership competencies that are required to stimulate and facilitate innovative behaviour in team members.

 

Research findings from his studies have subsequently been presented at various organisational psychology presentations, both abroad and locally, including the SIOPSA Conference 2013 which was held in Pretoria.



Professional Experience



Bernard has been involved in the field of human resource management since 2007 and more specifically on the front of recruitment and selection interventions for various corporate clients. During the completion of his studies he also worked for organisations based in the transport sector where he functioned in the role of human resource generalist.


Bernard currently provides consulting services to clients in the IT, transport and agricultural sectors with the main focus on recruitment and selection, performance management, organisational development as well as leadership and innovation.
