Academic Background

 

Christo completed his D.Soc.Sc (Industrial Sociology) at the University of Free State. His Doctoral thesis, Die struktuur en funksies van die Personeelkundige vanuit Bedryfsosiologiese Perspektief, focused on conflict resolution.

 

In addition, he completed Industrial Psychology 1, 11 and 111 NDP at the University of South Africa (UNISA). More recently, Christo completed a Programme in Business Strategy at the University of Stellenbosch Business School.

Professional Experience



Christo lectured at both the North West University and the University of the Free State. He had a brief stint as a sports reporter at a newspaper based in Pretoria before joining ESKOM.

 

In 1987 Christo became the first person in the history of ESKOM with a HR background to be appointed in the capacity of a Regional Manager. He also acted as the Regional Executive for FSA-Contact in the Western Cape for a period of 4 years. For the past 20 odd years Christo has been in the consulting profession and served as a remuneration consultant on the Boards of two companies. 

 

Christo has extensive experience in job evaluation systems, remuneration strategies, executive remuneration, organizational development, designing of performance management systems, profit sharing and incentive schemes as well as the facilitation of planning sessions.
